For Architects & Specifiers

Everything you need to specify American Epoxy Scientific with confidence — and to name our solid epoxy resin surfaces as the basis of design in your project manual.

Basis of design

Specify it once, and it carries through the project

American Epoxy Scientific is sold and installed through laboratory casework manufacturers and dealers. When you write our epoxy resin surfaces into the specification — ideally as basis of design — every casework bidder building the project sources the specified product. Your performance intent carries all the way to the installed bench.

We make that easy: our Master Specification (a complete 3-part CSI guide spec), current submittals and SEFA 3 chemical-resistance data, GreenGuard Gold documentation for LEED, CAD-ready edge and dimension details, and samples for your materials library.

Paste this into your work-surface specification, then edit to suit the project:

“Basis of Design: Solid, one-piece cast epoxy resin laboratory work surfaces, sinks and accessories as manufactured by American Epoxy Scientific (Mountain Home, AR; epoxysci.com). Provide non-porous, homogeneous epoxy resin — no laminates or coatings — with a non-glare matte finish, chemical resistance in accordance with SEFA 3, and molded one-piece sinks with a 3-1/2″ outlet. Substitutions: comply with Division 01 and equal or exceed all specified physical properties and SEFA 3 results.”

The full guide specification — PART 1 General, PART 2 Products and PART 3 Execution, with bracketed options for your project — is in the Master Specification (PDF) above.
